Privacy notice

This is a translation for convenience. If the two versions differ, the Spanish version prevails.
1. Who is responsible for your data
Avantia Metales S.A. de C.V. ("Avantia") is responsible for processing your personal data. Its address is Av. Fulton 18, Fracc. Valle de Oro, San Juan del Río, Querétaro, 76803, Mexico.
For any privacy matter, write to contacto@avantiametales.com. These requests are handled by our Personal Data Department.
2. What data we collect
We collect your data directly from you when you request a quote, message us on WhatsApp, Messenger or by email, call us, buy from the online store or ask for an invoice:
- Identification and contact data: name, company and job title, email, phone and WhatsApp number.
- Data about your request: the product or line you are interested in, dimensions, specifications, quantity, required date, any drawings or files you attach, your messages and how you found us.
- Purchase and shipping data: delivery address, products purchased, amounts and payment method.
- Tax data, if you request an invoice (CFDI): RFC, legal name, tax regime, tax postal code and CFDI use.
- Browsing and source data: the page or ad you came from (for example, an ad click identifier), the pages you visited, your device and browser type, the identifier the store assigns to your browser, and your approximate IP address (see section 7).
- Data about your visit, linked to your request: if you send us a request, we link it to your visit. Together with your reference number (folio) we keep your browser identifier, how you reached us (the ad, search engine or site that brought you and the page where you landed), the language, whether you use a phone or a computer, and the name of the owner of the network you connect from (for example, your internet provider or your company). We do not store your IP address in this record. We also record, without your contact details, clicks on the site's WhatsApp and Call buttons and which Avantia number they lead to.
- Data about your authorization: if you tick the box to receive news, we keep the date and the wording of the box you accepted, as a record.
- Call data, when you call Avantia's phones, including the tracking numbers shown on the site or in ads: the number you call from, and the date, time and duration of the call. Calls are not recorded.
Financial data: if you pay by card, your card details are collected and processed directly by the store's payment processor. Avantia neither sees nor stores them. If you pay by bank transfer, we only keep the receipt and the details needed to identify the payment. We process this data because the purchase you request requires it.
We do not collect sensitive personal data. Please do not include it in your messages or files.
Our products are intended for businesses and professionals, and the site is not directed at minors.
3. What we use your data for
Necessary purposes (these give rise to our relationship with you)
- Reply to your request, give you a reference number (folio) and prepare your quote.
- Contact you by email, phone or WhatsApp about that request or quote. This includes following up to check whether you have questions or the project is still going ahead.
- Process and deliver your orders, collect payment and issue your invoice (CFDI).
- Handle warranties, returns and inquiries, and provide the documentation for your purchase (certificates, manuals).
- Comply with legal and tax obligations and respond to requests from authorities.
- Keep the site secure and prevent fraud.
Secondary purposes (not necessary to serve you)
- Send you technical information, news and promotions from Avantia by email or WhatsApp. We only do this if you authorize it, either by ticking the box on the form or by telling us in writing.
- Ask for your feedback on our service or for a review.
- Measure which ads, pages and channels generate requests and sales, by linking your request to your visit (section 2), to improve the site and our advertising. For this purpose, we may share your email or phone number with advertising platforms (Google) in encrypted (hashed) form, which cannot be read.
- Show you Avantia ads on those platforms, based on your visit or your relationship with us.
You can tell us at any time, starting now, that you do not want your data used for the secondary purposes. Write to contacto@avantiametales.com with the subject "No to secondary purposes" and, if you wish, say which ones. For measurement on the site, you can also turn off analytics and advertising cookies through the "Cookies" link in the site footer (section 7). Refusing does not affect your quote, your purchase or any service you request.
If we ever want to use your data for something not covered by this notice, we will ask for your consent again.
4. How you can limit the use of your data
- Email: every informational email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
- WhatsApp: reply "STOP" or "BAJA" and we will stop sending you informational messages.
- Site cookies: the "Cookies" link in the site footer turns off analytics and advertising cookies (section 7).
- Advertising: you can turn off personalized ads in your Google, Microsoft or Meta account settings, and delete or block cookies (section 7).
- By email: write to contacto@avantiametales.com and we will add you to our internal exclusion list.
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
Service providers act on our behalf and may only use your data to provide that service to us. Some of them store data outside Mexico, mainly in the United States and Canada:

Transfers. We transfer your data without your consent only in the cases allowed by Article 36 of the Law:
- to authorities, when a law requires it or a competent authority orders it;
- when it is necessary to perform a contract entered into in your interest, or for our relationship with you;
- to companies under the same control as Avantia that follow the same privacy policies (such as Tanques Avantia), in order to handle your request.
Any other transfer only with your authorization. If what you need is made by another company, we will give you its contact details; we will only pass on your data if you ask us to.
6. Your ARCO rights and how to withdraw consent
You have the right to Access your data, Rectify it if it is inaccurate, request its Cancellation, or Object to its processing (ARCO rights). You may also withdraw any consent you have given us.
How: email contacto@avantiametales.com with:
- Your name, and an email address or postal address where we can reply.
- A copy of an official ID (or, if you are acting for someone else, proof that you represent them).
- Which right you want to exercise and the data it concerns. For a rectification, state the change and attach any supporting document.
- Anything that helps us locate your information (for example, your folio or order number).
Deadlines: we reply within 20 business days of receiving your request. If it is granted, we carry it out within the following 15 business days. Each of these deadlines may be extended once, for the same length of time, when the case justifies it. We reply through the same channel you used to contact us.
It is free. We may only charge for shipping or copying costs.
We cannot cancel some data while we need it to perform a contract with you or to meet a legal obligation (for example, invoices). In that case, we block the data and keep it only for the period the law requires.
If you believe we did not handle your request properly, you may contact the Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno, Mexico's personal data protection authority.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Our site uses cookies, pixels and similar technologies, our own and from third parties, that collect data automatically while you browse:

They collect: pages visited, time on the site, the ad or site you came from, device and browser type, language, your browser identifier and approximate IP address. Besides cookies, we keep in your browser's storage how you reached us the first and the last time, to link it to your folio if you send us a request.
How to turn them off on the site: when you arrive you will see a banner about our use of cookies; if you keep browsing, you accept them. Through the "Cookies" link in the site footer you can turn off analytics and advertising cookies at any time; necessary cookies are always on. Your choice is saved in your browser and you can change it at any time. If you turn off analytics, we delete from your browser how you reached us and stop linking your visit to your request.
In your browser: you can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy.
If you block the necessary cookies, the cart and checkout may not work.
8. How long we keep your data
- Requests and quotes that do not lead to a purchase: 3 years from the last contact.
- Customers: for as long as the business relationship lasts and then 5 years from the last invoice, for tax purposes.
- Permission to receive information and news: until you unsubscribe.
When these periods end, we delete or anonymize the data.
9. How we protect your data
We apply administrative, technical and physical security measures. Access to your data is limited to the staff who need it to serve you, and they are bound by confidentiality. If a security breach significantly affects your rights, we will inform you immediately.
10. Changes to this notice
We will publish any change at www.avantiametales.com/en/policies/privacy-policy with the date of the last update. If the change is significant, we will also notify by email everyone who has authorized us to write to them.
This notice complies with Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (published in the DOF on 20-Mar-2025; last amended in the DOF on 14-Nov-2025).
